Whether you're ready to try indoor climbing for the first time, or you’re an experienced crusher who’s never been to our gym before, there are a few things to know before stopping by:

Do I need to make a reservation?

Not at all! We accept walk-ins during all open hours. If you plan on bringing a large group, or want to host a birthday party, then you should make a booking. Otherwise, you’re free to show up any time! Upon arrival, staff will give you a brief introduction to the gym and how to climb safely at our facility.

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely! Toprock is a kid-friendly facility, and we set our climbs to be accessible to people of all ages and heights. In fact, we offer many youth programs for children who want to become more involved with climbing — it’s a great way to develop confidence, problem solving skills, and a healthy respect for your body. We don’t recommend climbing for children under 4 years of age, but they are welcome to hang out at the gym with the rest of the family while you have fun. Do note, however, that we require children to be supervised by an adult unless they are taking part in one of our youth programs.

Complete Our Waiver

Anyone who climbs needs to have a current completed waiver on file. Adults 18 years and older can fill out their own waiver at anytime, but minors under 18 years old must have their waiver completed and signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Save time by filling out your waiver right now!

What do I need to bring?

Comfortable clothes that you can move around in! Typical gym apparel works great, whether it be shorts and a t-shirt, sweatpants, yoga pants, or a tank top. If you have your own climbing gear (climbing shoes, chalk, a harness), then bring those as well — but don’t worry, we rent all necessary gear if you don’t have it. We do require that you wear socks in our rental shoes, but if you happen to forget them, we sell them at the front desk. We have changerooms, no need to change clothes before coming!

We recommend that you bring a water bottle, but we do have a water fountain and we sell refreshments as well.

People with long hair may want to tie it back, but it’s not a requirement. We also recommend ensuring your fingernails are trimmed!

We have cubbies for storing your belongings in, and recommend removing any rings, bracelets, and watches before climbing.

Eating is permitted in our gym, provided it is not done on our mats. You may bring a light meal or snacks, or purchase food from one of our neighbouring restaurants.
